Book Share–Read the Hardy Boys!

My mom and dad have been reading me the Hardy Boys, one of my favorites.  There are guys that work for the criminal, Big Al, that are assigned to get the Hardy Boys.  Now they’re in the woods, and in the morning, they’re going to a meeting by the bear’s shadow.  Big Al is running.  Now there is the meeting in the canyon.  SOOOOOOOO EXCITING!

I stepped out of the shiny car and onto the crunchy green ground. We were there. I walked to a beautiful grassy part. A young woman in her teens came and greeted us all. She had rabbit fur and raccoon fur on her waist and a bag with bright colorful beads—blue and green and orange.

She said, “Hello, I am Sacagawea.”

Sacagawea had a loving smile and coffee colored skin. She made me happy about our Lewis and Clark journey.

I was still next to Ivy, Joshua, and Jadon, the people I rode in the car with. We started with some cocoa. We sat down on some tarps and in front of me were six animals, a bear, a coyote, a fisher, a hawk, an otter, and an owl. A woman with curly hair talked about all the animals.

After that, I hiked a tall mountain. The first part was really steep, and the rich black dirt poured out when you touched it. When we got to the middle, Karis found a cool thing that you could sit on.

After that, we went to lunch. Our lunch was a Lewis and Clark trail lunch. Mr. Huebner roasted everything, and the sparks jumped out of the campfire. Everything was cooked nicely, and I tried the roasted potatoes.

Then there was the best part of the day, which was worship by the falls. I played the recorder. It made me think of Mr. Keny, my old music teacher. I missed him. He even taught us Irish. I love to play the recorder. Looking at the dark blue waterfall made me excited. I liked looking up at the forest and imagining how many creatures lived there. I could see the bubbling water rising up from the bottom of the river. The rocks were so tall and so pretty that everyone just stopped and looked at them when we first got there.

I said, “Dear Lord, thank You for all You’ve given us in the beauty around us. Thank You that these people around us are Christians. I love how You made everything different. I love that You didn’t make the world boring, but You made it fun! Than You for giving us a clean earth to live on and for creating everything. I love how You made the trees sway in the breeze. Thank You for giving me friends and family to go on the trip with. Amen.

That was my favorite thing that day.
